Who is Doxie Canine Services?

Hiya, I'm Sammy! I'm the founder and owner of Doxie Canine Services. I have been a Pet Professional since 2019 and I'm an experienced pet owner. I have experience with all kinds of animals, reactivity levels, catering for different pets needs, biddible dogs and the stubborn. I have a huge interest in dog psychology, behaviour, nutrition and genetics.  

I grew up around animals since day one, it's somewhat a running joke how I was raised by animals. Most my childhood photos are of myself either camping under the table with a dog, holding some animal or me dressed in fancy dress as a dalmation.

In 2006 after a lot of begging, crying and tantrums, I got my first dog, George. My Nan got him for me as a tiny pup because of course - I am her favourite and I was always getting into trouble with her Jack Russells. I will never forget that day.

George sadly passed away January 2022 at the amazing age of 16. He had health issues including a rare illness rarely seen in dogs called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, AKA Westie Lung Disease. I was always praised by vets for how well I took care of him, my knowledge and how great his quality of life was despite on paper his diagnosis was terminal. It was an absolute privilege to share 16 years with him and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

I share my home with my mini dachshund, Ella as well as reptiles, a bunny and a cat. Over the years I have had many pets of different species.
